In a Nutshell:

You will be responsible for promoting the Ansell Brand, building on our existing customer sales base with our wholesale and contractor partners. Promoting our products within the industry sector, retaining sales and taking market share from our competitors by finding areas of development and new opportunities.

Key Responsibility's of the Role:

DELIVERY

  • Meet individual and company targets.
  • Provide direct customer support by being informed of the latest products and services.
  • Update our wholesale partners continuously and in a timely manner of any upcoming changes surrounding price, product features, etc.
  • Maintain and grow existing contractor database, providing site visits, lighting schemes and take offs, taking opportunities back through our wholesale partners
  • Ensure the Octo offering is visible and available to our wholesalers and contractors alike.
  • Manage project work through from concept to installation, supporting on site end users and contractors.
  • Identify sales opportunities and follow up on existing accounts for business development.
  • Create and execute appropriate strategic plans to drive the overall business strategy in your area.
  • Continue to drive the commodity growth targets through Edmundson and buying group members where applicable.
  • Drive B2B signups and usage, explaining full features and benefits of the platform to the wholesaler database.
  • Research sources in order to develop new business connections.
  • Make calls to prospective clients and inform them about new products and deals.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and manage sales activities accordingly.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints using own initiative.
  • Explain products value and capabilities to customers.
  • Monthly Reporting on key sales issues and statistics to be delivered on time and accurate.
  • Be active in the allocated sales area, visible, contactable, and ready to meet customers.

QUALITY

  • Maintain high level of customer service.
  • Always maintain a high standard of Professionalism.
  • Generate sales report, detailing sales figures, competitor activity and targets.
  • Handle issues which may impact customers quickly and with autonomy.

COST

  • Reduce cost through the reduction of non-quality cost i.e. reduction of returns.

SAFETY

  • Contribution to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment
  • Support the regional sales manager in adherence to Health and Safety Regulations at all levels regarding returns.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT 

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with people at all levels, ensuring regular communication with Managers, Technical Engineers, and support functions.
  • Your RSM – your first point of contact for everything -daily formal and informal contact including submission of reports.
  • Subordinates – frequent daily formal and informal
  • Other Company employees – daily contact with Warehouse &production staff and managers, highlighting problems and identifying actions to solve / prevent problems.
  • Customers/External Contacts – frequent. Be visible and available!

Are you right for us?

Our Area Sales Manager will have/be:

  • A proficient level of education
  • A good knowledge of Lighting and Electrical Products
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an external Sales based role.
  • Experience of working cross functionally
  • A good level of knowledge of Lighting and Electrical Products
  • Skills associated with a sales-based role.
  • A good level of general business acumen.
  • Highly committed individual
  • Be able to communicate clearly at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Must have a professional work ethos.
  • Be able to resolve issues quickly and independently.
