Sales Manager – Netherlands & Benelux

In a Nutshell:

This role will be responsible for driving commercial growth across the Netherlands and Benelux by executing the regional sales strategy and managing key distributor relationships. In the role you will work closely with installers, engineering firms, and architects to secure specifications and project-based sales. In this position you will identify new business opportunities, produce reports regularly to the International Sales Director, and ensure there is alignment with corporate objectives. You will also represent the Ansell brand at trade shows, networking events, and client meetings. The Primary focus will be on the Netherlands, with responsibility for commercial development in Belgium and the wider Benelux region.

This position offers the flexibility of being structured either as a full-time employee or as an independent commercial agent (freelance) operating under a commission-based scheme.

Key Responsibility's of the Role:

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy in the Netherlands and Benelux region.
  • Build and manage relationships with key distributors of electrical materials.
  • Work closely with installers, engineering firms, decorators, and architects to drive specification and project-based sales.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the territory.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
  • Position the company as a leading provider of sustainable, innovative lighting solutions.
  • Drive brand visibility through industry events, trade shows, and partnerships with local associations.
  • Support product launches and ensure alignment with regional needs and standards.
  • Provide regular reporting to the International Sales Director and align with corporate sales objectives
  • Represent the brand at relevant trade shows, networking events, and client meetings
  • Collaborate with internal teams and the Commercial Director to shape and execute the market strategy
  • Report regularly on sales pipeline, market feedback, and activity progress.
  • Ensure all products and operations comply with EU and local regulations (e.g., CE, RoHS, energy labelling).
  • Maintain strong awareness of sustainability standards and environmental requirements relevant to lighting.

Are you right for us?

Our Sales Manager or Commercial Agent will have/be:

  • A good level of general and further education
  • Higher education degree (engineering, business, or related field) -Desirable
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the lighting or electrical materials sector.
  • Strong background working with installers, engineering consultancies, architects, and interior designers.
  • Proven experience working with specification sales to technical professionals (installers, engineers, designers, architects)
  • Knowledge of lighting principles and software such as Dialux or similar is a strong plus
  • An understanding of the Lighting Industry-Desirable
  • UK & International Lighting knowledge-Desirable
  • A Strong network and access to the electrical distribution channel in the region
  • Autonomous, goal-driven, and dynamic personality with strong commercial acumen
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload, and to work within given deadlines.
  • Be able to work independently with a target-driven approach and structured reporting.
  • Somebody with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and progress in their role as the business develops
  • Committed to learning and self-development.
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow with an ever-evolving industry.
  • Fluent in English & Dutch; knowledge of French is highly valued for activity in Wallonia (Belgium)
